Marc Sherman Plays Favorites
Debut Album
Release date: 1998
For my first recording I decided to play those songs which people request
most often. As I am sometimes asked if I have written anything myself, I
have also included one original composition (it was composed for my wife,
Gloria, who is my greatest supporter). My listeners always say, “Play your
favorite song, Marc.” It would be impossible to choose just one. They are
ALL my favorites.
1. As Time Goes By
2. Somewhere, My Love (Theme from “Dr. Zhivago”)
3. Speak Softly, Love (Theme from “The Godfather”)
4. The Way We Were
5. Gloria
6. Clair de Lune (Debussy) and Phantom of the Opera Medley (Music of
the Night / All I Ask of You)
7. Autumn Leaves
8. Theme from “Somewhere in Time” and 18 th Variation on a Theme of
Pagainini (Rachmaninoff)
9. Ebb Tide
10. Memory
11. Through the Eyes of Love (Theme from “Ice Castles”)
12. Rhapsody in Blue
Marc Sherman Plays More Favorites
Second album
Release date: 2011
On my first recording (Marc Sherman Plays Favorites), I played those songs which people requested most often. For my second album, I
continued this theme, performing compositions by some of the most well-loved composers of all time….Gershwin, Chopin, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Michel Legrand. Because of my great affinity for the country of Spain, I recorded the popular Malagueña (even though the composer Lecuona was Cuban, this piece is from his Suite Andalucia, a region in southern Spain, and the word Malagueña means pertaining to Malaga (a Spanish port city). My love of music written for motion pictures is evident, and I have included several tracks combining a movie theme with a classical piece, just as I did on my first album. They are some of my favorites, and I hope they will become yours also.
