About Marc
Marc began picking out tunes at age 4, as he sat next to his father (who played by ear) on the piano bench in their Philadelphia home. At age nine he was taking lessons, and by the end of high school decided to make music his career. Marc entered Temple University’s College of Music as a Piano/Voice Major. To help pay his tuition, he played organ in a trio, performing in area restaurants. He graduated first in his class in 1969 with a Degree in Music Education, and immediately began working for the School District of Philadelphia as a classroom music teacher. Marc continued playing keyboards and piano in restaurants and for private parties, developing a unique musical style which incorporated his years of classical training. His well-trained ear has enabled him to commit thousands of songs to memory.
If there is no piano available, Marc can bring a keyboard which offers a grand piano or a rich, one-man orchestra sound. His jazz trio consists of piano, upright bass and clarinet/saxophone. Or, if you prefer a more up-beat sound, the dance trio (keyboard, drums, sax) may be just the thing for your wedding reception, anniversary, birthday or dinner party. If a larger band is desired (4-7 pieces), additional musicians are available upon request. These include guitar, trumpet, violin and female vocalist.
Marc also teaches line dancing and will be happy to accompany guest singers. In addition to his musical talents, Marc can also add a little magic to your affair by performing table-side sleight-of-hand illusions.
“Music is the one incorporeal entrance into the higher world of knowledge which comprehends mankind but which mankind cannot comprehend.”
